Dean Coleman

Vinyl

It's fitting that Dean Coleman was discovered by Deep Dish, since his sound is a natural evolution of that duo's deep and funky take on progressive house. Coleman's tracks and mixes incorporate sounds and influences from electro-house, techno and even pop. Since his bootleg remix of Narcotic Thrust's "Safe From Harm" was picked up by Deep Dish in 2002, Coleman has become a respected and sought-after producer, remixer and DJ. A dedicated student of music theory and technology, he blurs the line between the studio and the DJ booth, crafting custom edits in the studio and then utilizing all the effects and technology built into modern mixers to remix everything live. His sets have won him acclaim on some of the biggest stages in the world, including Pacha in Ibiza, Crobar in New York and the Winter Music Conference in Miami. For a taste, go to myspace.com/deancoleman or subscribe to his free podcast on iTunes. Then come see him do it live at Vinyl on Saturday, March 1.
