I'm a country girl at heart. Don't get me wrong: I like the city, and I particularly like all the cultural events and great music you can only experience while living close to a large metropolitan area. But the noise, the pollution, the hipsters — I can only take those parts in small doses.

Rebecca Folsom is a lot like me. Born and raised in Boulder, close to both city and mountains, she's developed a fresh and inspiring sound — call it cosmopolitan country — that you can hear tonight at Wild Women of the West. A CD-release party for the Rebecca Folsom Band's new Water on Stone album, the event will also feature the Liz Barnez Band, Celeste Krenz and the Katie Herzig Trio — all women raised in Colorado and now living in Nashville. Tickets are $19; a portion of the proceeds will be donated to Blue Sky Bridge, an advocacy program for abused children.
