Spring Break is Still Awesome
Try as it might, Ft. Lauderdale still can't shake America's die-hard partiers.

Meat-eaters might feel as though they have no reason to attend the first-ever Denver Veg Fest & Health Expo, but they couldn't be more wrong; if you enjoy fish or chicken or even the occasional taste of -- gasp! -- beef, you'll still find something worth chewing on at the expo. Like the words of wisdom from Dr. Milton R. Mills, the associate director of preventive medicine for the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine: Mills has extensive knowledge of how good nutrition can positively affect your health.
Vegetarians and vegans will also find plenty to nibble on, between the chefs and companies promoting vegetarian lifestyles and the non-profit organizations representing environmental, health and animal welfare. Organizers are even working on making the fest a waste-free event. Ticket price will be determined on a sliding scale: Regular tickets are $10, but reduced-price $5 tickets are also available, and the altruistic can fork over $20, which allows the Veg Fest to donate one ticket. The expo takes place today from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Ritz-Carlton, 1881 Curtis Street; for information, visit http://denvervegfest.org or call WaterCourse Foods at 303-936-4688.
