In our topsy-turvy world of shrinking bank accounts and quickly changing trends, it can be both empowering and cost-effective to embrace a DIY outlook. Whether you want to pinch your pennies by doing your own taxes or dropping that gym membership and working out at home, the Colorado Women's Expo is full of helpful advice on how to live rich without a six-figure salary.

The two-day event begins today with presentations by finance expert and best-selling author Suze Orman and Oprah's fitness trainer, Bob Greene. In the evening, local chefs Jennifer Jasinski and Tyler Wiard will compete in a cookoff.

In addition to the celebrity events, there will be over 150 exhibitors, product samples and all the information you could ever want on how to take charge of your life.

Tomorrow features interior designer Kahi Lee, from HGTV's Design on a Dime, and Stacy London, co-host of What Not to Wear, who will give her signature snarky fashion advice. Be forewarned: London's not shy about scanning the crowd for a few examples of fashion hits-and-misses.

Get ready to make over your life: Tickets are $12 each day at the Colorado Convention Center, 700 14th Street, or you can order in advance at www.ticketswest.com. The expo runs from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. today and till 6 p.m. tomorrow. Visit www.postnewsevents.com for information.
