Full Flavor, Shag Lounge

Published on May 01, 2008

If you want quality house music on a Wednesday night, look no further than Full Flavor at Shag Lounge. Hosted by DJ Greg Campbell, a recent transplant from the exotic Midwest, the night is a groovy, funky house-lover's delight set in a retro-futuristic-themed bar. Campbell spins a mix of deep, old-school-flavored house that nods to the past while keeping an eye on the future; he calls Full Flavor the only Chicago house-influenced weekly in town and promises a night that "brings the funk back into house music like a home-cooked musical meal." Energetic without being frenetic, chill without being sleepy, it's perfect for easing the transition into the weekend. Joining Campbell each week is a rotating selection of local DJs, including such longtime Denver tastemakers as LL Bishop, along with the occasional out-of-town guest. A relaxed, friendly atmosphere and no cover charge mixed with a crowd that loves music and comes to dance makes Full Flavor an ideal mid-week opportunity to get down and forget the daily grind.
