Jerry Seinfeld doesn’t have to appear in concert tonight. Thanks to ubiquitous reruns of his signature sitcom, not to mention dough from DVD sales and that bee-movie thing, he’s got more than enough money already. Enough to retire a thousand times. Enough to purchase every sock in the world and lose them all on purpose. Enough to hire an audience to follow him around 24/7 and guffaw at everything he says, even if it’s not funny. Especially if it’s not funny. Hell, he’ll make several hundred dollars in the time it takes you to read this sentence. Yet he continues to travel around the country telling jokes to strangers — and that’s one reason why so many people love him to this day. Astonishingly wealthy or not, he still needs us.

Seinfeld cracks wise at 7 and 9:30 p.m. at the Buell Theatre in the Denver Performing Arts Complex. Tickets are $45 to $75. Get details at 303-830-8497 or www.ticketmaster.com.
