Despite the growing popularity of digital print media, nothing beats a personal library filled with books. Indulge your inner bibliophile on the cheap today when the Denver Public Library kicks off its 33rd annual Used Book Sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

This year, the event is moving back outside, so it promises to be a real family event where everyone can enjoy the sunny north lawn of the Central Library while stocking up on cookbooks, children’s books, fiction, non-fiction and more. More than 50,000 books will be for sale, with hardbound titles going for $2, paperbacks for fifty cents and media (including DVDs, videos, CDs and records) for a quarter.

The event continues tomorrow from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the library, 10 West Fourteenth Avenue Parkway. Teachers get a 25 percent discount throughout the sale, and both teachers and non-profit organizations (with proper credentials) are eligible to participate in the one-hour Great Book Giveaway from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. tomorrow, when all materials are free. For more information on the sale, call 720-865-2054.
Sat., June 14, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.; Sun., June 15, 10 a.m.-3 p.m., 2008
