Mr. Nice Guy

It’s a sad truth: There are a lot of bad guys out there. Guys who steal, guys who kill, guys who break girls’ hearts. Sometimes it seems as though the good guys are nonexistent, but they’re out there — they’re just not always easy to find. And who can blame the good guys for lying low, when bad-boy culture is so celebrated in our society?

Well, tonight it’s time to give the good guys something back — some pride and some recognition. The Smart-Girl Good Guy Roundup is a celebration of the good guys every girl should have in her life, whether he’s a dad, an uncle, a teacher, a coach, a friend, a boyfriend or a husband. This Wild West-themed, family-friendly event will feature entertainment by Lannie Garrett, a chuckwagon dinner and cowboy games; proceeds benefit Smart-Girl, a non-profit organization giving adolescent girls the skills they need to overcome challenges and become confident, capable women -- and apt partners for the good guys in their lives. The Roundup takes place from 6 to 9:30 p.m. tonight at the Village Club, 4601 East Belleview Avenue in Cherry Hills; tickets are $125, $50 for kids under twelve and $325 for a family of four.
