Serving Boulder

If you’re looking to get away to where sand tickles your feet and bronzed men and women strut around all well-muscled and half naked, then look no further than the AVP Crocs Slam Boulder. Starting today at 10 a.m. and continuing through Sunday at Folsom Field, 29th Street and Colorado Avenue in Boulder, former and future Olympic sand volleyball players will showcase their slamming, spiking and serving dominance.

“It’s the highest level of beach volleyball that you can play in the United States,” says media contact Alison Shapiro. “All the Americans who will participate in Beijing will come from the AVP tour.” The event is made up of either 24 or 32 male and female two-player teams that compete in a double-elimination bracket. Specifics -- including the final roster -- are still in the works.

Tickets range from $50 to $100 for all-access passes and $15 to $75 for individual sessions. For more information, go to http://web.avp.com/index.jsp or call 1-310-426-8000.
