As the Master IntendedNo Holds Bard takes on Macbeth.By Mark DragottaPublished on July 09, 2008 at 1:01amA professional football team practices and hones its skills, but when it comes to game time, nobody knows exactly whats going to happen, says No Holds Bard player Kate Kissingford. Our approach to Shakespeare is kind of the same thing. Theres a sense of uncertainty that keeps spontaneity and electricity in the air. We create the performance on the spot with the help of the audience. We use them in monologues and as props. They love when we mess up. Today starting at 6 p.m. at the Curtis Arts and Humanities Center, 2349 East Orchard Road in Greenwood Village, No Holds Bard presents Shakespeare as the master intended. Using the largely unedited, historically accurate First Folio version of Macbeth, the actors play Shakespeare with unrehearsed, balls-to-the-wall zeal complete with errors and missteps encouraging audience members to cheer and jeer as they see fit. Admission is free. For more information, call 303-797-1779 or go to www.noholdsbard.org.
