St. Mark's in the Dark

Watch weekly horror movies in the basement.

Something scary is going on beneath St. Mark’s Coffeehouse. Once a week, a group gathers to pay homage to the darkness in preparation for the spookiest night of the year. “We all love Halloween over there,” explains Gio Toninelo. “We figured we’d do a countdown with a film every week.”

Okay, so it isn’t exactly a demon-summoning, but children of the darkness should come down anyway for Horror Movie Night at 9 p.m. tonight and every Wednesday until All Hallows Eve.

The movie is free, and along with the usual popcorn and candy, you can enjoy coffee, beer or a cocktail from the bar — just the thing to calm your jangled nerves. Embrace the darkness in the Ubisububi room of St. Mark’s, 2015 East 17th Avenue. For more info, call 303-320-7814 and visit www.thinmantavern.com/events for a full listing of upcoming films.
