Bringing Back the '30s

Costumes, frivolity and historical riddles often characterize an evening in downtown Boulder — but usually not for the benefit of children’s and family events at the Boulder History Museum. For tonight’s History Mystery Challenge, starting at 5:30 p.m., groups of four to six adults will be scavenging around town, looking for clues to win the History Mystery Trophy. “We’ve decided to focus on the 1930s because of the Colorado Shakespeare Festival’s Woody Guthrie play,” says Laura Stroud, curator of education at the museum. “Some teams are already grouped around really obscure figures in Boulder history…but we’re hoping that people won’t be intimidated.”

Pre-registration was required, but that doesn’t mean you can’t cheer on your favorites in the event, which will culminate with the Team Spirit Prize.
