Bringing Back the '30sBy James AnthoferPublished on August 06, 2008 at 1:00amCostumes, frivolity and historical riddles often characterize an evening in downtown Boulder but usually not for the benefit of childrens and family events at the Boulder History Museum. For tonights History Mystery Challenge, starting at 5:30 p.m., groups of four to six adults will be scavenging around town, looking for clues to win the History Mystery Trophy. Weve decided to focus on the 1930s because of the Colorado Shakespeare Festivals Woody Guthrie play, says Laura Stroud, curator of education at the museum. Some teams are already grouped around really obscure figures in Boulder history but were hoping that people wont be intimidated. Pre-registration was required, but that doesnt mean you cant cheer on your favorites in the event, which will culminate with the Team Spirit Prize. The search starts and ends at the Highland City Club, 885 Arapahoe Avenue in Boulder. For more info, visit www.boulderhistorymuseum.org or call 303-449-3464.
