Tonight at the Supreme Court Cafe and Nightclub, 1550 Court Place, forget John Lennon and think John McCain. At Karaoke Convention ’08, part of a week-long project by artist Daniel Peltz for Dialog:City, you won’t find “Faith” or “Papa Don’t Preach” on the playlist. Keeping in the spirit of the Democratic National Convention, VJs from Alien Entertainment will translate a dozen bipartisan speeches into karaoke format.

Should Hillary have conceded in a chipmunk voice? Should McCain have accepted the nomination with a little more pizzazz? You decide. Special guest performances by Mayor John Hickenlooper, Congressman Mark Udall, state senator Joan Fitz-Gerald and Ray Rivera, state director for the Obama campaign, will complete tonight’s launch for the project, which continues at various karaoke venues throughout the week.
