There’s no denying that roller derby has experienced a revival, which explains why Denver is able to support two roller derby teams, one of which is headed to Colorado Springs today to participate in a double-header bout. The Rocky Mountain Rollergirls’ 5280 Fight Club will take on the Fort Collins Girls Gone Derby’s Kung Fu Donnas today at 4 p.m. in the Colorado Springs City Auditorium, 221 East Kiowa Street in Colorado Springs.

Show your support for the home team and get to the auditorium by 4 p.m., when the first bout begins. Halftime entertainment will be provided by the Mizmar Madness Belly Dancers, and the second bout of the evening — the Pikes Peak Derby Dames’ All-Stars versus the Salt City Derby Girls’ Salt City Shakers — starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door. This will be your last chance to show the Rollergirls some support before they head off to the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association Western Regionals competition in October, so come on down! For information, visit www.pikespeakderbydames.com or call 1-719-385-5969.
