So then they had to hunt down a worthy liberal to debate Prager, which eventually led them to local citizen, columnist, author and progressive wunderkind David Sirota, who eagerly jumped at the chance. The upshot? The two will meet tonight at 7 p.m. for a formal debate on What's Better for America Liberal or Conservative Ideas? While presumably trying to make sense of that question in the wake of two intense platform-touting conventions, who even knows which ideas are which anymore? Prager and Sirota will duke it out over current topics, including the economy, foreign affairs and cultural issues. The fun starts at 7 p.m. at South High School, 1700 East Louisiana Avenue; University of Denver business ethics and legal studies prof Corey Ciocchetti will be on hand to try to keep the two speakers (not to mention the audience) in line.
Admission is $21 in advance or $25 at the door; for details, go to www.pragerevent.com.
