Looking for a more artsy, unusual way to celebrate Halloween? The holiday might be officially over, but if youre still in costume-party mode, then look no further than Bad Art for Bad Peoples Monster Mash.
Featuring music by Dario Rosa, Tijuana Sweetcakes and the Severs, Monster Mash will also incorporate fire dancers, live painting, make-and-take art, Naughty Pi-erre as emcee, food by Gourmet Fine Catering and drink by Great Divide Brewing Co. and Total Beverage, a top-secret performance by Get Your Going, and, of course, art lots of art, says Bad Arts Bob White. My guess is 100 to 150 pieces of art, mostly local and some out-of-state. All of it will be for sale, too, with prices starting as low as $10, so theres bound to be something for every collector out there. And dont forget your costume: There will be an informal costume contest, with winners taking home some fabulous art for free! The Monster Mash goes from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. at Navarro Studio, 1330 27th Street; admission is $8. Visit www.badartforbadpeople.com.
Sat., Nov. 1, 8 p.m.-2 a.m., 2008
