There’s not a rock guitarist alive who can’t claim that at least a teensy bit of the Jimi Hendrix vibe flows in his veins; even today, the voodoo child’s screaming licks and dead-on phrasing still give ya the shivers, though he’s been dead for more than thirty years. That’s why Gibson Guitar and Jimi’s dad, who oversees the Hendrix legacy, gathered a diverse lineup that includes Buddy Guy, Jonny Lang, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Eric Johnson, Hubert Sumlin, Cesar Rojas and David Hildago, along with one-time Hendrix sidemen Mitch Mitchell and Billy Cox, to hit the road for Experience Hendrix, a mass homage with enough star power to light up the entire city for a week. ’Scuse me while I kiss the sky!

Catch the tour tonight at 8 p.m. at the Paramount Theatre, 1621 Glenarm Place; for tickets, $39.50 to $99, go to www.livenation.com or call 1-866-461-6556.
