Family Ties

Los Lonely Boys rock out with Hill Country Revue.

Although Los Lonely Boys were heavily influenced by growing up in a family of musicians, they’re no Partridge Family. Moving with their dad and stepmom around the country -- from living out of a tent in California to performing with their dad in smoky Nashville bars -- in search of that big musical break, they cultivated a distinct roots-rock sound that takes cues from influences as diverse as Jimi Hendrix and Los Lobos, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Willie Nelson.

Tonight at the Ogden Theatre, 935 East Colfax Avenue, Los Lonely Boys join Hill Country Revue for a night of jammy, bluesy, old-time rock and roll. Sharing the family-secret approach to making music, Revue member Garry Burnside is the son of legendary bluesman R.L. Burnside. With a strong background in high-country Mississippi blues, Burnside and most of Hill Country Revue are former or current members of the North Mississippi Allstars; their country, bluesy, guitar-heavy sound is somewhat reminiscent of the Allman Brothers Band.

The 8 p.m. show is sixteen-and-up, and tickets are $26. One dollar of each ticket sold goes to the Emergency Family Assistance Association. For more information, go to www.ogdentheater.net or call 303-832-1874.
