What did everybody think of Across the Universe? Personally, I loved it -- enough that I bought it on DVD and watch it fairly regularly -- but I have a problem: It’s damn near impossible for me to sit through the whole movie without bursting into song along with Jude, Lucy or Prudence. And when I start singing along, my husband shushes me.

Harrumph. Looks like I’ll have to indulge my penchant for harmonizing with John, Paul, George and Ringo at the Beatles Sing-Along, the annual John Lennon memorial event at the Mercury Cafe, 2199 California Street. Lyric sheets are provided, so you don’t even have to used closed captioning! Best of all, it’s absolutely free. Stop by at 2 p.m.; for information, visit www.mercurycafe.com or call 303-294-9281.
