Think your holiday sweater is more ridiculous than my holiday sweater? Put your money where your mouth is! Pull yours on and head down to Lakewood’s Belmar for Dated Holiday Sweater Night, an evening of ice-skating, contests and a warm-clothing drive to benefit the Jeffco Action Center.

“Everyone can relate to this idea, whether it’s Grandma who loves her sweater to a group of twenty-somethings who make a party out of it,” says Belmar’s Stephanie Jackson. “It’s something that every age can participate in and have fun. It’s great to offer something humorous and lighthearted with a theme.”

Last year’s sweaters included the typical snowmen and reindeer as well as sweaters that take clothing a step further with tinkling holiday carols and flashing lights.

Stop by the Rink at Belmar at 6 p.m. tonight; dated-sweater wearers skate for free. Prizes -- Belmar holiday entertainment packages that include two free passes to the movies, ice skating and bowling -- will be awarded for the most memorable men’s, women’s, children’s and best overall sweater.
