Last year, my wife wanted to stay at a downtown hotel with our kids to watch the annual Parade of Lights, so she looked for an overnight package deal. She never found one, so we ended up creating our own fun by packing hot chocolate (with Baileys for the adults), chairs and flashlights, then checking out the Larimer Square Santa the next morning. If only we’d known about the Warwick Denver Hotel’s Parade of Lights Jammie Package! Now in its third year, the family-friendly setup includes a room for a family of four, grandstand tickets near Civic Center Park, a gift bag, hot chocolate, cookies and sparklers. “After they come back, they’re treated to refreshments. The kids can come down in their jammies, and there will be Christmas storytelling and movies played,” says hotel sales and marketing director Sydney Joung. On Saturday and Sunday morning, breakfast will be served with Santa and a real reindeer. The 9News Denver Parade of Lights takes place tonight at 8 p.m. and tomorrow at 6 p.m. The Warwick is at 1776 Grant Street; parade rates start at $199 for four. Call 303-861-2000 for reservations, or log on to www.warwickdenver.com or www.denverparadeoflights.com for more information.
