Oscar Sneak Peek

Aspen Film brings back its always-popular Academy Screenings.

“This year’s Academy Screenings has a powerhouse lineup, not only in terms of directors, but also in terms of actors,” says Aspen Film executive director Laura Thielen. “However, alongside these marquee-value films, we also have films like Soderbergh’s Che, with Benicio Del Toro, or the French film The Class, which won the top award at the Cannes Film Festival in May and is just opening in New York and L.A. on the 26th of December.”

In other words, this year’s Aspen Film Academy Screenings provide the perfect opportunity to catch not only those Oscar-caliber films that you missed in the thea-ter, but also flicks that will be a sneak peek for a majority of film enthusiasts. Today at 5:30 p.m. at the Harris Concert Hall, 960 North Third Street in Aspen, the program opens with Happy-Go-Lucky (starring Sally Hawkins); screenings continue through January 3.

Tickets are $12 per film; for more information and a complete program, go to www.aspenfilm.org or call 1-970-920-5770.
