Chase away that case of the Mondays at New Music Mondays, a weekly free-form dance party hosted by DJ Hot to Death, better known as Matt Fecher, co-founder of the Monolith Music Festival. Each week, Fecher brings in guest DJs from both the local and national scenes to play their favorite tunes, as well as throwing down a set or two himself and inviting the audience to take over and play whatever they bring along. “You never know who’s going to show up. It’s really cool, the people that come out,” he says. “Sometimes I don’t get to DJ at all, there are so many guest DJs. It’s definitely a music lovers’ crowd, people who love music of all kinds. The music is really across the board. It’s more of a free-for-all.” Past guest DJs have included members of Overcasters and Cat-a-tac. Tonight’s guests are DJ Ginger (Mommy’s Little Monster) and Westword’s own Eryc Eyl. The music and madness start at 9 p.m. and go until 1 a.m. at the Larimer Lounge, 2721 Larimer Street. There’s no cover for this 21-and-up event -- but don’t forget to bring along some records or your iPod to get in on the fun. For more info, visit www.myspace.com/hottodeath.
