Home Run

Get your red-hot seats for Rockies Fest.

If the Colorado Rockies’ season opener is your only game of the year, or if you can only afford Rockpile tickets, or if you just go for the hot dogs — basically, if you don’t bleed purple-and-white (and dead presidents) — then the first annual Rockies Fest is a little out of your league. In fact, it’s the gated community of baseball events. “This is a chance for us to reward our most valuable fans,” says Jay Alves, vice president of communications and PR for the club. “We can get them excited about the 2009 season, touch the players and have a chance to see a side of Coors Field they don’t normally see.”

Starting at 10 a.m. today, season-ticket holders get a behind-the-scenes look at all things Coors Field. With more than twenty major-league players on site, guests will have a chance to see live demonstrations, ask questions and get autographs from players, coaches, the manager and general manager. They can also challenge players to baseball video games and tour backstage areas such as the press box and the clubhouse.

Admission is free for season-ticket holders, but space is limited, so reserve yours soon. For more information, call 303-ROCKIES or go to www.coloradorockies.com/rockiesfest.
Sat., Jan. 24, 10 a.m.-3 p.m., 2009
