Spaceflight Orchestra

An Orchestra of One
Black Bridge

Spaceflight Orchestra's debut album is ten tracks of dubby downtempo and funky breaks perfect for your next blunted journey into inner space. It's reminiscent at times of the Orb and Royskopp, with a clean, uncluttered aesthetic and impeccable production. The disc starts off a little slow but hits its stride by track three, "What It Shall Be," and really takes off with the next two songs, "The Inner Smile" and "Solid." While Orchestra seems aimed at home listening, several of its tracks could work on a mellow dance floor as is, and most of them could be remixed into floor fillers without much trouble. On the down side, the vocal samples can get a little annoying, and the timbres used are a little repetitive, but overall, this is one space flight worth taking.
