Suit Up

Don your finest PJs for Denver’s Road Home’s annual fundraiser.

Who knew wearing pajamas could be so profitable? Denver’s Road Home has already collected more than a half-million dollars in donations through its annual PJ Party, and planners are hoping this year’s incarnation will do well, too. “We know that the economic crisis right now is definitely hitting people hard,” acknowledges project manager Jamie Van Leeuwen. “We’ve seen that in the recent rise in demand for homeless services. I think that speaks to what we’re seeing happen with the PJ Party. Now, more than ever, it requires a commitment that every man, woman and child has a place to live life off the streets, and the PJ Party is a great demonstration of how our community continues to respond to the call to action with our mayor to end homelessness.”

Join the party tonight at 5:30 p.m.; Mayor John Hickenlooper will be there in his own PJs to read a bedtime story. A $275 package price includes two tickets to the party, a special visit with Hick and overnight accommodations at the venue, Marriott’s Residence Inn Denver City Center, 1725 Champa Street. Limited $100 single tickets are also available, which get you into the party -- and get you all the comfort food and beverages you can handle.
