A Keystone State

Sample delicious food at the resort’s winter culinary festival.

Need an excuse to get up to the mountains? Try Keystone’s first-ever Winter Culinary Festival, featuring tastings, classes and seminars beginning today and continuing through Sunday. Highlights include a martini tasting, an ice carving demonstration, a culinary-trends seminar and a chocolate class. The festival is headlined by the Grand Tasting Lodge, where gondolas will take patrons to the Outpost on North Peak for a sampling from Keystone’s best restaurants, such as Keystone Ranch, Ski Tip Lodge, Alpenglow Stube and more. The Grand Tasting Lodge is $100 per person, with other events ranging from free to $75 per person; many are only $5 a pop.

“Keystone has an awesome culinary culture, and we wanted to show it off, especially for the Front Range people who come up to sample our venues,” explains Keystone spokeswoman Katie Adamson. “People will be able to sample all the fine dining that Keystone has to offer.” Adamson expects more than 300 people to participate.

And for those who love what they try at the Grand Tasting Lodge, DINE OUT Keystone will run concurrently with the festival. A variety of area restaurants will offer special deals throughout the weekend, creating a cold-weather culinarian’s perfect atmosphere.
