The well-received series investigates the foods that we eat through a combination of history, science, anthropology and culinary arts, says Sarah Skeen, the Labs manager of development and operations. That combination of things is what creates the umbrella for Taste Test.
Taste Test: Chocolate begins tonight at 6:30 p.m., with Bridget Coughlin (deputy chief curator and curator of human health at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science), William Poole (chef and founder of Wen Chocolate) and Rebecca Peizer (chef instructor at the Culinary School of the Rockies) all examining the different aspects of chocolate through their varying expertise.
The Lab is at 404 South Upham Street in Lakewood. This seasons four Taste Test events (the others are sugar, green chiles and pizza) are sold out, but if you hurry, you can get on a waiting list. Tickets are $25 for the public and $20 for members; for details, call 303-934-1777 or go to www.belmarlab.org.
Thursdays, 6 p.m. Starts: March 5. Continues through March 26, 2009
