Mr. Anonymous

Mr. Anonymous 2
Black Bridge

For Mr. Anonymous's 2005 debut, former Samples drummer Jeep MacNichol went down to Kingston, Jamaica, and teamed up with Sly & Robbie, the English Beat's Dave Wakeling, Brando and a bunch of other reggae superstars to record an album fused with reggae, dancehall, dub, hip-hop and electronica. On this followup, MacNichol explores similar territory and plays all of the instruments (drums, bass, percussion, keys, guitars, drum loops) save for the bass and drums from Sly & Robbie on "Breeze and River" and the bass-and-drum looping from 21 Dread. Brando and Wakeling are on board again, as is the latter's former English Beat partner Ranking Roger, who adds some tasty vocals to the dance groove "Chi Widdley Bup." MacNichol also brought in the all-star talent of Afrobot, Mega Banton, Pinchers, Ranking Jr. and Boubacar Diabate to contribute their vocals to this wonderfully eclectic disc.
