Assuming the weather holds — and since we live in Colorado, you never can tell — this could be just the day to play hooky from work and loll about at the Denver Botanic Gardens, 1005 York Street, where delicate winter hellebores will be blooming, and cheerful daffodils and other early spring bulbs might already be poking up from the earth. And even if they aren’t, or if whatever’s poked up is now covered with two feet of snow (because that happens here, too), the fabulous Tulip Mania display, featuring a riot of forced bulbs, is in the main lobby through mid-April. Today’s just the day to see it, because it’s this month’s free day, when Colorado residents can stroll the DBG, indoors or out, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., for no fee. And if you’re the type who finds it relaxing to tie yourself up in a knot and then meditate, you might want to stay after the gardens close for a DBG after-hours Kundalini Yoga class with yoga maestra Chris Anne Coviello, who teaches drop-in classes in the most ancient form of yoga every Monday evening from 5:15 to 6:30 p.m. The spring session continues through the end of April, and the drop-in fee is $8 to $10 per class.
