Pints and Pigskin

It’s live-feed rugby for breakfast.

There’s nothing better than a crisp day at the pitch, watching gladiators bludgeon each other in smash-mouth fury over a bit of ball. No, this isn’t the return of the XFL; this is rugby — British style. The annual Six Nations Championship will see England vs. Scotland, and last year’s champion, Wales, take on Ireland.

But you don’t have to jump the pond to catch the action. You can see it all live, starting at 8 a.m., on 360 degrees of ginormous projection-screen TVs at the International Ballroom at Glendale’s Infinity Park Event Center. Even better, there will be plenty of Guinness on hand and a complimentary breakfast. The $25 admission price also includes entry to two local matches; watch the Glendale Raptor women’s team battle the Berkeley All Blues (at 11 a.m.) and the men’s team take on the squad from Queen City (at 1:30 p.m.).
