The Artist's Way

They say tomorrow is always a new day, but if you happen to be a struggling artist or cultural nonprofit in Denver, that just might be true: You still have time to register for tomorrow’s fourth annual Create Denver Expo, hosted by the Denver Office of Cultural Affairs to provide information about services available to struggling creative enterprises. A full day of workshops with an extensive exhibitor area, the event touches on a variety of relevant subjects, including how to catch the eye of the media, snagging a film deal or building a recession-proof plan for your business.

It all begins at 9 a.m. March 21 at the Wellington Webb Municipal Building, 201 W. Colfax Avenue with a welcome address by Mayor Hickelooper. Then it’s on to workshopping, information gathering and a 10:45 a.m. keynote address on the state’s creative economy, by Elaine Mariner of the Colorado Council on the Arts; at the end of the day, participants can gather for a networking after-party at Cap City Tavern, 1247 Bannock Street. Don’t let it get away from you: To sign up online in advance (for an incredibly low fee of $5), go to www.regonline.com/CreateDenver.
Fri., March 20; Sat., March 21, 9 a.m.-4 p.m., 2009
