It’s official. You can finally tell your parents they were wrong when they said that comic books were a waste of time and money. Why? Because all those afternoons spent in musty comic-book stores and reading X-Men in the basement will pay off tonight when Geeks Who Drink present The Dork Night Returns, a comics-centric quiz at Brandon’s Pub. “Right now there are about sixty pub quizzes a week in four states,” says Joel Peach, co-founder of Geeks Who Drink. “Generally, we maintain that no one subject has a monopoly on geekdom, so we tend to ask a wide variety of questions. But this will allow us to focus on one specific aspect of nerdliness.”

The comics-only quiz is set up in eight rounds of eight questions. Each team (of up to six players) writes down answers to all questions and then turns them over to the host. The team with the most right answers — and the most points at the end of eight rounds — wins. Teams get an extra point for each member who shows up in a costume. Prizes include a $30 bar tab for first place, $25 for second place and $15 for third place.

The fun begins tonight at 8 p.m. at Brandon’s, 955 Lincoln Street; admission is free. For more information, call 303-532-4737 or go to www.geekswhodrink.com.
