It’s Mother’s Day, which means most children will be showing their love via a bouquet of flowers and a nice brunch somewhere -- complete with clean faces, combed hair and tucked-in shirts. But why not go a step further and take Mom to the ballet afterward?

The Boulder Ballet is offering a special deal in conjunction with the 14th Street Grill, 1400 Pearl Street in Boulder. Brunch and Ballet features delicious prix-fixe menus for both adults and kids, with two seating times. The early package includes brunch from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., and the Boulder Ballet’s Beauty and the Beast at 11. The second show features brunch from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., followed by a 2 p.m. performance.

Attendees will “pick up their tickets right at the restaurant, so they don’t have to worry about hurrying through their meal to go wait in the will-call line,” says the Boulder Ballet’s Jamie Johnson. The performances take place at the Boulder Theater, 2032 14th Street in Boulder, within easy walking distance of the restaurant. Brunch and Ballet tickets range from $28 to $48; performance-only tickets are also available. Call 303-443-0028 or visit www.boulderballet.org.
