Talk about the kindness of strangers. You’ve got to hand it to the folks in the Riverfront Park neighborhood who went to Judy Anderson at PlatteForum — the Central Platte Valley non-profit gallery that pairs at-risk youth and working artists — with an offer she couldn’t refuse, not no way. They offered to donate a juicy load of furniture, light fixtures, books, vintage magazines, toys and much, much, more to benefit the kids in the organization’s ongoing ArtLab student internship program.

“Someone could absolutely furnish a high-end apartment with stuff from this sale,” Anderson says while warning that there will be no room for too-early lookie-loos at today’s Chi-Chi Va Garage Sale, a “no garage” garage sale in Riverfront Park, adjacent to the gallery at Bassett Circle and Little Raven Street. Arrive at 9 a.m., no sooner, to peruse the goods, which are prodigious and tony. ArtLab kids, who are spending the summer working on a theatrical endeavor with local director Jose Mercado at the University of Colorado Denver, will be on hand to meet and greet until the sale ends at 3 p.m., just to let you know how much they appreciate your support.

Platteforum is at 1610 Little Raven Street; for more information, log on to www.platteforum.org or call 303-893-0791.
