Fashion-forward Denver residents know that our fair city might not be a Milan, Paris or New York -- but we can still hold our own in the cutthroat scene of what’s hot and what’s not. Part of our edge comes from a crop of talented local designers, but it’s also a result of showcasing haute couture from across the land and packaging it Denver style. Welcome to Riverfront Park Fashion Series, the summertime catwalk/fashion extravaganza that takes place once a month on Little Raven Street in downtown Denver. The series kicks off tonight at 5:30 p.m. with a collection from Catherine Malandrino, hors d’oeuvre by Capital Grille and the theme “Revolution of Sound.” Wine, beer and spirits will be available, and Luxe Salon is in charge of beautifying those catwalk-strutting models before they parade down the runway. Can you think of another city where you can see a fashion show with a backdrop of real, honest-to-God mountains? We didn’t think so.

General admission tickets are $50; prices go up for reserved catwalk seating or the cabana; proceeds benefit the pooch-friendly Railyard Dogs. Tonight’s after-party is at the Capital Grille, 1450 Larimer Street. Call 303-623-1500 or visit www.riverfrontparkfashion.com.
