Despite the title, women aren’t the only ones being targeted by the Colorado Rapids 2009 Festival of Women at Dick's Sporting Goods Park. While the afternoon of speakers, workshops, pampering and shopping hosted by Boutique for the Soul has plenty to offer the ladies, it’s also designed to be a family event that blends live music, climbing walls for the kids, special exhibits and live sports into the overall picture.

Erin Seabold, founder of Boutique for the Soul, an organization that mentors and provides connections for women with small businesses, sees the fest as an opportunity to help women from all walks of life invest in their futures. “Especially this year, it’s my job on this earth to connect women and inspire, motivate and educate them, regardless of whether or not they are in business for themselves.” To that end, she’ll present motivational talks by keynote speakers Dottie Lamm, Mark McIntosh and “marketing ninja” Alecia Huck, along with the lighter stuff: massages, health screenings, belly dancers, a Fashion Denver fashion show, burlesque performers and more. And to wrap it all up, tonight’s soccer match between the Colorado Rapids and D.C. United is included in the $15 ticket price. Time to bond, families!

The festival gets under way today at 3 p.m. at Dick’s, 6000 Victory Way in Commerce City; for tickets, go to www.coloradorapids.com or call 303-727-3537.
