Fulcrum

Quack
Self-released

The quotient for another undistinguishable, melodic hard-rock outfit made up of pretty boys has been filled: Fulcrum is here. On Quack, we're treated to six tracks of generic, repetitive guitar riffs, tough-yet-sensitive vocals singing brain-numbing lyrics and the rest of the usual derivative modern alt-rock claptrap. The damn thing even ends with a power ballad. Luckily, the band sets itself apart with clever song titles. Oh, wait, no they don't: The songs have names like "The Way You Are" and "Moving Forward." In Fulcrum's favor, the group sounds as polished and professional as any you might hear in the middle of a Clear Channel "Rock Block" or, say, opening for Nickelback. And did I mention the guys are real pretty? This should be huge.
