Within the limits of the tubular milieu, the only thing more entertaining than simply watching TV is making fun of it. And this is the tried-and-true tack taken by the local comedy sketch group Nietzsche's Moustache in its new spoof, 60 Minutes: the Musical!, which opens today at the Avenue Theater for a run that continues through the end of August. In it, the regular 60 Minutes team becomes simultaneously indisposed, replaced by the correspondents from hell (i.e. Nietzsche’s Moustache), who sing, dance and satirize their way through a typical episode of the newsmagazine (complete with interviews, commercial parodies and Broadway-style numbers) – with atypical results.

Laugh your way through 60 Minutes: the Musical weekly on Tuesdays at 7:30 p.m., through August 25; for information about additional performances during the run, or to reserve tickets, $12, visit www.avenuetheater.com or call 303-321-5925. The Avenue Theater is at 417 E. 176th Avenue.
Tuesdays, 7:30 p.m.; Sun., July 19, 2 p.m.; Sun., Aug. 16, 2 p.m.; Fri., Aug. 28, 7:30 p.m. Starts: July 7. Continues through Aug. 25, 2009
