You already know that the stretch of East Colfax known as the Bluebird District, which runs from York Street to Colorado Boulevard, is one of the hippest zones in town. And you may have already had your margs at Mezcal and your cupcakes at the Shoppe and Lovely Confections. But here’s your chance to learn what else is good to eat and listen to up and down the street: For Tasty Colfax: Eats on the Beat, fifteen neighborhood restaurants and bars are joining together to offer a restaurant crawl featuring food sampling and live music at places both upscale (Trattoria Stella and Encore) and lo-fi (Steve’s Snappin’ Dogs), tonight from 5:30 to 9 p.m.

“Times are tough, and this seems like a good way to focus on our local businesses and profile the neighborhood restaurants to people who live in the area,” notes spokesman Don Novak. But you don’t really have to live there to enjoy the tour: Buy tickets for $20 in advance at Hooked on Colfax (3215 East Colfax Avenue), the Tattered Cover Coffee and Tea Shop (2526 East Colfax Avenue) or online; then redeem the ticket or receipt for a wristband/passport at one of four starting points — Encore, Lovely Confections, the Shoppe or Steve’s — on the night of the event.
