There are some strange, serendipitous ways to meet that special someone. A high school friend's parents met at a Led Zeppelin concert, for example, and I know one couple who met while changing a flat tire and another at a strip club. Of course, not everyone has time to sit around strip clubs, waiting for romantic lightning to strike, and fewer still are interested in letting the air out of their tires.

Fortunately, the Denver Zoo's Singles Safari makes it easy to explore the possibilities of animal attraction. "The idea is to have a more relaxed and fun setting than a lot of singles might be used to," says Zoo spokesman Sean Andersen-Vie. "When they're not just wandering around meeting other singles, we're actually going to have a scavenger hunt. So they'll be split into teams, given a clue, and then they have to put their heads together and figure out the right animal off a list."

The Safari begins at 6:00 p.m. tonight at the Denver Zoo, 2300 Steele Street. The $20 admission fee buys two drinks, appetizers, three animal demonstrations, and music by Rob Drabkin; the love is free. For more information, call 303-376-4800 or go to www.denverzoo.org.
