In a Universe Fowl, Fowl Away

Robot Chicken Star Wars is a plucky take-off on the original.

Love it or hate it, the classic Star Wars franchise is a multi-generational geek-culture touchstone. And given its status at the very top of the sci-fi heap, it’s no surprise that over the years, the series has been lampooned by just about everyone. One of the very best of these parodies is the recent Robot Chicken Star Wars. In just under half an hour, the Robot Chicken crew, led by co-creators Seth Green and Matthew Senreich, manage to show us the daily lives of some of the more obscure characters of the Star Wars universe, uncover Boba Fett’s seamy, carbonite-enabled affair with Han Solo and answer the longstanding question of whether The Empire Strikes Back would work as a musical on ice. (Yes, it would.) Alongside those highlights, the pair also manages to cram in about twenty other hilarious scenarios, from President George W. Bush’s Jedi fantasies to the near-universal dream of seeing Jar-Jar Binks blown out of an airlock.
