For high fashion on the edge, the Goldyn Showroom Opening Party at Taxi is the place to be tonight: Along with DJ Synergy’s sets, vodka 14 drinks and live music by Houses, the trendy online/popup boutique’s new appointment-only showroom will present a live fashion show featuring its latest and greatest finds, from 6 to 10 p.m. That would include the kind of styles you’re used to seeing a tony shops on the coasts, culled form the collections of more than forty designers. Goldyn is in Suite 106 at Taxi 2, 3457 Ringsby Court; visit www.shopgoldyn.com or call 888-6GOLDYN for details. And over in the Golden Triangle at Vinyl, 1082 Broadway, the fashion will jingle with an ethnic air at the Runway to Bollywood Fashion Event, an extension of the periodic Passport to Bollywood club night spiked up by a fashion show featuring New York Indo-Western designer Sandya Jain on the runway. The rest is pure joy: Bollywood dancing and spins by DJ Ashish B; ethnic attire isn’t required, but always welcomed. Runway to Bollywood begins at 9 p.m., and admission ranges from $10 to $15; get Bolly-info at www.passporttobollywood.com.

Remember we said deals were in the forecast? What if they came packaged with a block party? Beginning Saturday August 29 at 9 a.m., the Lower Downtown Neighborhood Association will host a No-Garage Garage Sale and Block Party full of unexpected urban treasures and other cheap stuff at 15th and Wynkoop streets in LoDo. At 1 p.m., the sale segues into a party, replete with LoDo restaurant bites, live music and interesting people, until the sun goes down. Admission is free, and the pickin’s should be best early; get details at LoDoNa.org/news. Not far from LoDo, in the jumping Five Points neighborhood, the, um, first Last Art Fair in a series of three will spread out at 28th and Welton streets. A variety of works, from paintings to fiber art, will be for sale during this monthly outdoor art exhibition and fair; check it out from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, with repeat appearances on September 12 and October 3. Admission is free.

And finally, let loose your inner Japanese schoolgirl or sword-wielding spike-haired dude at Gimme Gimme Pillow Toast’s End of Summer Party and Cosplay Contest, happening from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Belmar Japanese pop culture emporium. There will be Japanese snacks, music, video, deals, prizes for costumes and bloody-mouthed icon Gloomy Bear in person; the whole thing is being touted as a precursor to cosplay paradise: the upcoming Nan Desu Kan anime convention coming to Denver in September. It’s all free; find Gimme Gimme Pillow Toast at 445 S. Saulsbury, Space E, on Belmar’s Block 7, Lakewood. Info online at www.gimmegimmepillowtoast.com, or call 303-872-7706.
