Fairy-Tale Ending

Run for your own Happily Ever After in Greeley.

When we were children, all good stories ended with the sentence “And they lived happily ever after.” Sadly, that happily-ever-after is becoming increasingly difficult to find in the modern age, which is where organizations like Weld County’s Building Healthy Marriages comes in. The non-profit group provides free relationship-education seminars to couples who need them, helping them strengthen their bond and possibly overcome a situation that might have ended in divorce.

Today you can help support BHM’s endeavors by donning your favorite happily-ever-after costume (whether inspired by Disney, Hans Christian Andersen, the Brothers Grimm or Hollywood) and participating in the Happily Ever After 5K Fun Run, taking place at the Greeley Family Fun Plex, 1501 65th Avenue in Greeley.

“It was kind of a shot in the dark two years ago when we did our first fun run,” explains Ann Bruce, Weld County’s special-projects manager. “Colorado, being such a healthy state as it is, we thought a fun run would be a good platform to bring people in so we could start doing more public education in the broader sense.”

The run takes off at 8 p.m. today and costs $5 per person or $20 per family; a community resource fair will also take place on the grounds. Call 970-304-6193 or visit http://buildinghealthymarriages.org.
