More About

Rambling down a country back road of old-time bluegrass and Americana-inspired ditties, Paonia's husband-and-wife team of Bill Powers and Shelley Gray (best known for their work with the Sweet Sunny South) lead a nimble acoustic formation through a musical holler of lazy hounds, yawning porches, banjos and long-gone neon motels. From the moving pedal-steel-sweetened strains of "Talk to Me Tennessee," a song co-written by Powers and influential Colorado songsmith Benny Galloway, to the boot-shuffling, hard-driving "Big Buck in the Road" and the tongue-in-cheek "You Can't Get Your Kicks on Route 66," Honey Don't suggests that the ghosts of America's past still roam the land, swinging to jukebox music, playing Gibson mandolins and doing the ol' rag in timeless style.
