How do we know? Because we took some liberties with the September cover of Denver Magazine, which features the lovely assets of Channel 31 news stars Libby Weaver and Natalie Tysdal, who have a new afternoon show that's like The View Goes to Highlands Ranch but in this homoerotic photo are pure Highlands Raunch. The pic (snapped by local photographer Don Cudney) got people talking all over town, especially on the Latest Word blog at westword.com, and it also got us thinking: What would other Denver celebs look like paired in this kinky scenario?

Denver or Indianapolis? That's the question Republic Airways CEO Bryan Bedford will consider as he weighs this city's desperate pleas to keep the Frontier Airlines operations base here. Republic, which beat out Southwest Airlines in an auction of bankrupt but born-local Frontier, is based in Indianapolis — and Denver boosters would like to convince Republic not just to keep Frontier here, but to move the entire Republic operation to Denver International Airport. To help in those efforts, Westword staffer Michael Roberts compared the two cities in ten key areas in a scrupulously objective manner before determining that Denver absolutely kicks the crap out of Indy. Duh.

Scenery: Denver is surrounded by some of the most spectacular scenery in the United States. The Rocky Mountains are just a short commute from almost anywhere in the metro area. In contrast, get a few miles outside of Indianapolis and the best things you'll find are roads leading to other, more scenic places.

Music: Of late, Denver and surrounding communities have produced a number of groups that have earned national acclaim, including The Fray, The Flobots and 3OH!3. Indianapolis boasts Bands of America, a high-school marching band organization.

Recreational opportunities: Denver offers so many ways to have fun in the great outdoors that they're too numerous to count. Skiing, hiking, fishing, cycling, etc. As for Indianapolis, the city has some nice parks, perfect for sitting in and wishing you were in a place with more natural beauty. Like Colorado, for instance.

Professional sports: Denver has franchises in the big four pro sports. Indianapolis has only two: the Indiana Pacers and the Indianapolis Colts, who had to be snuck out of Baltimore in the middle of the night and so really shouldn't count.

Pro quarterbacks: Peyton Manning vs., um, Kyle Orton? Okay, we'll give Indianapolis that one. But Denver still wins.
