When Arizona tattoo artist Hollis Cantrell set the Guinness World Record for Fastest Tattoo Artist in November 2008 with 801 AZ-design tattoos in 24 hours, he issued a challenge: I want them to look in the Guinness Book at my record, he was quoted as saying, and the next fucking douchebag who wants to try this fucking cringes. Strong words for a guy who was only required to ink tattoos 1.25 x 3 inches in size.

When the significantly more gracious Scotty Savell goes for the record between noon today and noon tomorrow, hell be required to meet Guinnesss new guideline of 3.72 x 3.72 inches. Its definitely going to be really hard to beat this one, Savell admits, but once this record is broken, the next person who comes along is going to have such a hard time.
Being that the month of October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, continues Savell, who has multiple family members affected by cancer, were doing this to bring awareness and raise money. Which is why, at todays Guinness Record Attempt and Cancer Awareness Benefit, Savell will offer only ribbon designs, in the most common awareness colors, with one exception: A crossbones sign will be available for guys who feel a little too manly for a ribbon but still want to show their support.
Ribbon tattoos cost $30 (or $20 between the slower hours of 1 to 6 a.m.), an off-the-street savings of almost 500 percent. Though walk-ins are welcome and encouraged, interested parties can e-mail tatsforacause@yahoo.com to schedule an appointment. It all goes down at Freakys, 5701 East Colfax Avenue.
