Exhibitionists!

The sight outside Denver’s museums last November was as amazing as anything on display inside: lines of people. People lined up on a weekend night, eager to see and be seen at Denver’s first ArtsWeek. This year’s ArtsWeek, which kicked off on Thursday, November 6, and runs through November 14 (yes, that’s eight days, but we’re counting creatively), has expanded to include a Sunday Denver Performing Arts Complex open house that has Denver poet laureate Chris Ransick taking on Pikes Peak poet laureate Aaron Anstett, deals at traditional arts venues around town, special hotel rates if you want to make a night of it, and even innovative menus at local restaurants. And the real crowd-pleaser--Night at the Museums--is back, of course, with a dozen museums, ranging from the Black American West Museum to Museo de las Américas to the Forney Museum of Transportation, all open for free tonight.
