A Stitch in Time

“A lot of our vendors said it was the best craft fair they'd ever done," says Fancy Tiger's Jaime Jennings, reminiscing about 2008’s inaugural Holiday Handmade Alternative Craft Fair. And this year’s fair will be twice as big – literally – because Jennings has changed its location to the South Broadway Christian Church, 23 Lincoln Street, which is sizable enough to house sixty vendors rather than last year’s thirty.

"We really try to get people who are either new or up-and-coming, who don't really do a lot of holiday fairs," notes Jennings. "Our fair ends up being really fresh and exciting, and I think some of the crafts offer something really different than what you'd usually find. And this is the best possible way to support the local economy, because you're buying local and handmade." Sold!

The fair runs from 6 to 9 p.m. today and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. tomorrow; call 303-733-3855 for information.
Fri., Dec. 4, 6-9 p.m.; Sat., Dec. 5, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., 2009
