Read 'Em and Eat

It's the season for giving, but also for receiving. That's why the Printed Page Bookshop's Food for Thought drive for the East Denver FISH food bank is perfect: You give food and receive great new reading material in exchange. Everything from cookbooks to bestsellers are included, and you can bring more than one item and leave with more than one book. "Any donation gets a book," promises Dan Danbom, who co-owns the store with Nancy Stevens. "If someone can't find something here to read, I'd be surprised."

More About

Proteins such as tuna, peanut butter and canned meats are especially needed, as are diapers. If you don't have anything extra in the pantry, cash donations are accepted, too. The drive has been going for a while, but it ends today, so don't dawdle. Bring your donations to the Printed Page Bookshop, 1416 South Broadway. Store hours are 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday. Call 303-722-1846 for more info.
